Nissan’s 7-seater SUV
Japanese car manufacturer Nissan is also entering this rapidly growing segment. The company plans to introduce an SUV that emphasizes premium Ness and technology. This SUV is expected to feature modern features such as a large touchscreen infotainment system, wireless connectivity, Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), a 360-degree camera, power and ventilated seats, and premium upholstery.
The powertrain is likely to include a 1.3-liter turbo petrol engine with a hybrid option, delivering excellent performance and improved fuel economy. This SUV is expected to launch in India by the end of 2026. Its estimated on-road price is expected to be between ₹17 lakh and ₹26 lakh.
Renault Boreal
Renault’s 7-seater SUV, internationally known as the Boreal, is now ready to enter the Indian market. It will make its mark with its styling and exceptional features. The Boreal will include premium features such as two large 10-inch screens, stunning ambient lighting, a massive panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, Level 2 ADAS, and an excellent Harman Kardon sound system.
The international version is powered by a 1.3-liter turbo petrol engine that produces 158bhp and 270Nm of torque, paired with a DCT gearbox. However, powertrain details for the Indian version have yet to be revealed. The SUV is expected to launch by mid-2026. Its estimated on-road price could be between ₹17 lakh and ₹26 lakh, making it a formidable competitor in the segment.
Hyundai’s New 7-Seater SUV
Hyundai is taking a step up from its existing 7-seater model, the Alcazar, by launching an all-new 7-seater model that will directly challenge the XUV700. This new SUV will come with a new name and will feature features like a massive 12.9-inch touchscreen, a fully digital instrument cluster, Level 2 ADAS, and connected car technology.
The second row will offer both captain and bench seat options. The powertrain is likely to be a 1.5-liter hybrid engine, which could make it the best in the segment in terms of fuel efficiency. This model could be launched in 2027. Its estimated on-road price could be between ₹18 lakh and ₹27 lakh, positioning it in the premium 7-seater segment.
