New Delhi: People who returned home after the Chhath festival are now returning to their work. This has led to a surge of people at railway stations. In response to the influx of passengers, the railway administration has taken a significant decision. The East Central Railway administration has announced an increase in the number of special trains operating to various parts of the country.
These trains are running from several cities in Bihar to major metropolises, as the Chhath festival is most popular in Bihar. Special trains are being run from Patna, Danapur, Rajendranagar, Barauni, Gaya, Saharsa, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Samastipur, and Raxaul in Bihar to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and other major metropolises across the country.

East Central Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Saraswati Chandra stated that the number of passengers returning home to other cities has increased after the Chhath festival. This movement has led to a surge in passenger traffic. In view of this, hundreds of special trains are scheduled to operate until the end of November and December.
More than 25 trains have been scheduled from Patna, Rajgir, Gaya, Darbhanga, Saharsa, and Sitamarhi to Delhi and North India. Special trains are scheduled to operate at regular intervals from Patna, Danapur, Saharsa, and Raxaul to Mumbai and Pune. Furthermore, for travellers from South India, several trains, including Danapur, Bengaluru, Darbhanga-Yeshwantpur, Patna-Hyderabad, Barauni-Mamudai, Muzaffarpur-Hubballi, and Patna-Ernakulam, are operating until December 31st.

The 02391 Patna-Anand Vihar Special will depart Patna at 22:20 every Saturday until November 29th and arrive at Anand Vihar at 18:30 the next day.
The 04089 Patna-Anand Vihar Special will depart from Patna at 18:20 hrs daily until November 30th and arrive at Anand Vihar at 14:50 hrs the next day.
The 02251 Patna-New Delhi Special will depart from Patna at 10:00 hrs every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday until November 16th and arrive at New Delhi at 23:30 hrs the same day.
The 02253 Patna-New Delhi Special will depart from Patna at 10:00 hrs every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday until November 17th and arrive at New Delhi at 23:30 hrs the same day.
The 04093 Patna-Hazrat Nizamuddin Special will depart from Patna at 07:45 hrs daily until November 30th and arrive at Hazrat Nizamuddin at 00:45 hrs the next day.
