Keeping this in mind, the East Central Railway has taken a major step. Several trains on this route have been cancelled between January and February. The Railways stated that the decision was taken with passenger safety in mind. During winter, there is a lot of fog during the mornings and nights, which significantly reduces visibility on railway tracks, making it difficult to keep trains running on time. Keeping these conditions in mind, the Railways has already taken a major step this time. Traffic will be deliberately light on several routes between January and February.

- Train No. 14111 Muzaffarpur-Prayagraj Junction Express will remain cancelled till 25 February 2026.
- Train No. 22198 Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi – Kolkata Express will remain cancelled till 27 February 2026.
- Train No. 12327 Howrah-Dehradun Upasana Express will remain cancelled till 27 February 2026.
- Train No. 12328 Dehradun-Howrah Upasana Express will remain cancelled till 28 February 2026.
- Train No. 14003 Malda Town – New Delhi Express will remain cancelled till 28 February 2026.
