Free Ration– Big news for Ration Card holder’s. Ration distribution started on Wednesday at 1137 ration shops. The work of updating the POS machine has been completed. From this month, card holders without e-KYC will not get ration. Their unit has been removed from the machine. Now only e-KYC complete holders will have to go to get ration. Children from zero to five years are exempted from this. There was a state of confusion among the card holders due to not getting ration for so many days.
The government is continuously making plans to bring transparency in the district supply department. For this, first the scales of the ration dealers were made electric. After this, the register was removed and a pass machine was installed. To prevent rigging in distribution, instructions were issued to get e-KYC done for 2205678 units. Even after extending the deadline thrice, KYC could not be completed.
Despite the District Supply Department informing them several times, people have not done e-KYC. Children have been given facilities in the new scheme of the government. Under this, 165847 children from zero to five years have been kept away from it. Ration distribution has been started on Wednesday.
At the same time, the department has taken strict action against those who have not done e-KYC. The updated version of 0.24 has been installed in all 1137 POS machines. Due to this, the machine has automatically suspended the units without e-KYC. Now card holders will not get ration from those without e-KYC.
