What did UIDAI state about Aadhaar update fees?

UIDAI explained that enrolling for Aadhaar is free of charge. While various fees apply for updating different types of data, mandatory biometric updates for individuals aged 7 to 15 are free until September 30, 2026.

  1. Mandatory biometric updates (photo + fingerprint + iris) are also free for children aged 5 to 7 years and 15 to 17 years.
  2. The fee for updating mandatory biometric data (photo + fingerprint + iris) for children aged 7 to 15 years and those over 17 years is Rs 125.
  3. The cost for demographic updates (one or more fields) is set at Rs 75, which includes all taxes.
  4. For biometric updates (Photo + Fingerprint + Iris), whether done alone or alongside other demographic updates, the charge is Rs 125.
  5. The fee for Aadhaar search using E-KYC/Find Aadhaar/any other method and for a color printout on A4 paper is Rs 40.
  6. The cost for updating the address via the myAadhaar portal is Rs 75, inclusive of all taxes. The fee for document updates is also Rs 75 through the Aadhaar Enrolment Centre and the myAadhaar portal.

UIDAI has made the document update service on the Aadhaar online portal, ‘myAadhaar’, free until June 14, 2026.
