Watch: Sai Sudharsan’s impossible catch during IND vs WI 2nd Test

The second match of the two-Test series between India and the West Indies is being played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. October 11th is the second day of the match. India, batting first, declared their innings at 518/5 on the second day.

West Indies, batting first, got off to a poor start, as Sai Sudarshan took an incredible catch that stunned everyone. Now, Sai’s catch is resonating around the world. The incident occurred on the second ball of the eighth over, when West Indies opener John Campbell played a powerful sweep shot off Ravindra Jadeja. Sai Sudarshan, fielding near the batsman, took the catch. Normally, such a catch is quite difficult. However, Sudarshan displayed remarkable presence of mind and made the catch. However, his hand was shaking after the catch. He suffered a serious injury and had to leave the field. He is currently under the supervision of the medical team.

Before the catch, Sai Sudarshan also displayed his batting prowess on the first day of play. Although he fell short of a century, he still managed a half-century. He scored a brilliant 87 runs off 165 balls. He also hit 12 fours during his innings. Sudarshan missed out on his first international century. Batting first, India declared their innings at 518 in 134.2 overs, thanks to centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill. Jaiswal scored 175 off 258 balls, while Shubman Gill made an unbeaten 129 off 196 balls. Nitish Reddy made 43 and Dhruv Jurel made 44. In reply, West Indies lost their first wicket at just 21 runs.

Day 2 India batting summary

At the end of the first day’s play, India had scored 318 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. On the second day, India declared their innings at 518 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Jaiswal was run out on 175 runs, missing out on a double century. He faced 258 balls during his innings and hit 22 fours. Shubman Gill also played an unbeaten innings of 129 runs from 196 balls, hitting 16 fours and 2 sixes. Nitish Reddy scored 43 and Dhruv Jurel scored 44.
