The Commission has taken this initiative to increase voter awareness, especially among youth, ahead of the assembly elections. Vaibhav Suryavanshi has made a significant mark in cricket at a young age and is now also becoming an inspiration for youth in the field of social responsibility.
The Election Commission has released an inspiring video of Vaibhav Suryavanshi on its official social media platforms, in which the young cricketer is seen appealing to people to vote. In the video, Vaibhav says, “I salute all of you. When I enter the field, my goal is to play well and help my team win. Similarly, your important role in the field of democracy is to vote. So be a conscious citizen and vote in the assembly elections.”

This promising cricketer from Bihar has already proven his talent nationwide at a young age. Vaibhav Suryavanshi made his IPL debut for the Rajasthan Royals in 2015. That same season, he stunned the cricketing world by scoring the second-fastest century in IPL history. He was subsequently selected for the Indian Under-19 team, where he performed brilliantly on tours to England and Australia.
Given his consistent performance, the Bihar Ranji team appointed him vice-captain. After consistently achieving new heights in his sport, Vaibhav has now also been given the opportunity to fulfill his social responsibilities.
The 2025 Bihar Assembly elections will be held in two phases—the first phase on November 6 and the second phase on November 11. This time, the Election Commission has placed a special emphasis on raising awareness among young voters. As part of this initiative, the Commission has appointed Vaibhav Suryavanshi as the “Future Voter Icon,” representing the youth.
According to the commission, “Vaibhav Suryavanshi is an inspiration to today’s youth. Just as he has demonstrated maturity and dedication on the sports field, he will impart the same message of responsibility to his peers in a democratic setting.”
