Kasi Viswanathan said that the team management felt the need for an Indian batsman in the top order. There won’t be many Indian batsmen available at the auction, so we thought the best way to acquire an Indian top-order batsman would be to buy him through the trade window. And so we had to make this decision, and it’s a decision made by the team management, and it’s a very difficult decision to leave Jaddu, who has been a key player in CSK’s success over the years.
He further stated that this was possibly one of the most difficult decisions CSK has made as a team management. Given the current changes CSK is going through, the team management made the most difficult decision. It was essential that we consult with the players concerned, and only after mutual consent did we make this decision. The CSK CEO further stated, “When I spoke to Jadeja, he clearly stated that if there’s an opportunity for him, he should definitely take it. He also feels he’s in the final stages of his white-ball career, so he also felt he could get a break.
