Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir is facing criticism. A section of fans and critics believe that he is biased in favor of young fast bowler Harshit Rana. People believe that the only reason for Rana’s inclusion in India’s ODI and T20 squads against Australia is his Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) connection. All three persons we are talking about are related to Kolkata Knight Riders, commonly known as KKR. Bisla was a former cricketer, Gambhir was the former cricketer and mentor who helped Rana to grow as a pace bowler.

People continuously trolling Gambhir and Rana

Now, former KKR wicketkeeper-batsman Manvinder Bisla has defended both Gambhir and Rana. Bisla called the allegations of bias completely baseless. Speaking on the Indian Cricket Canteen YouTube channel, Bisla dismissed the rumors circulating on social media as baseless. Manvinder Bisla said, “Those who are opposing Harshit Rana are not KKR fans. I’m saying this honestly. Everyone is making it sound like Gautam is from a KKR background, so he’s supporting Harshit. There’s no uncle-uncle relationship. Everyone thinks there might be a KKR angle to this.”

Manvinder Bisla shared the dressing room with Gambhir during KKR’s title win in 2012. The coach has always valued performance over proximity. He reminded critics that Rana’s place was based on his talent and performance.

Bisla said sternly. “India beat Australia in Sydney, but people on social media only praised Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Did anyone talk about Harshit Rana? If someone had made a video on Harshit, would it have gotten so many views?”

Harshit Rana, who emerged as India’s wicket-taker in the ODI series against Australia, also showcased his batting skills by scoring 35 runs off 33 balls in the second T20. The former wicketkeeper also recounted how Rana’s brilliant four-wicket haul in the third ODI in Sydney laid the foundation for India’s victory.
