What ingredients are needed to make Besan Chakli?
Gram flour – 2 cups
Red chilli powder – 1 teaspoon
Rice flour – 1 cup
Turmeric powder – a quarter teaspoon
Sesame seeds – 1 tablespoon

Carom seeds (ajwain) – half a teaspoon
Ghee or oil – 2 tablespoons, for kneading
Salt – to taste
Oil – for frying
Water – as needed
How is Besan Chakli made?
Step 1- First, you need to put rice flour, gram flour, sesame seeds, turmeric powder, carom seeds, red chilli powder, and salt in a large bowl. Now, add ghee or oil for shortening. Then, mix everything well so that the ghee is thoroughly incorporated into the flour.
Step 2- Now you need to gradually add water and knead the dough until it is soft but firm.
Step 3- Now, insert the star-shaped plate into the chakli maker and then fill it with the prepared dough.

Step 4- Then, lightly grease a plastic sheet or butter paper with oil and then use a chakli maker to make round-shaped chaklis.
Step 5- Now heat the oil in a pan, but keep the heat low.
Step 6- Then, remove the fried chakli onto a tissue paper and let it cool. Once cooled, store it in an airtight container.
