Bihar Assembly Election 2025 – The NDA performed unexpectedly well in the Bihar Assembly elections, securing over a century of seats. It won 202 out of 243 seats in Bihar, making the BJP the single largest party. For the first time in Bihar’s history, the BJP won 89 seats. Now, the question on everyone’s mind is who will be the next Chief Minister of Bihar.
JDU, which came in second in terms of seats in Bihar, claims that Nitish Kumar will be the Chief Minister, claiming that there will be no vacancy for anyone else. However, BJP sources are talking about deciding the Chief Minister’s face in a meeting of all parties. So far, there has been no clear response from the BJP on this matter. However, PM Narendra Modi attributed this victory to Nitish Kumar’s leadership.
Big Statement from Bihar BJP President
When asked about the Chief Minister’s choice, Bihar BJP State President Dilip Jaiswal did not provide any clarity on Nitish Kumar. He said that all five parties in the NDA will first elect their legislative party leaders, and then, in the presence of the central leadership, they will sit together to select the leader of the coalition’s legislative party. He also cited the constitutional process for this.
What did Lallan Singh say?
Lallan Singh, a Union Minister in the NDA government and a senior JDU leader, cleared the air on Nitish Kumar’s CM position. Speaking to the media, he stated that there is no vacancy for the Chief Minister’s post in Bihar. Nitish Kumar will become the Chief Minister. Nitish Kumar is and will remain the Chief Minister of Bihar.
Shyam Rajak, the winning JDU candidate from the Phulwari assembly seat, said that the entire NDA is united, everyone contested the elections under Nitish Kumar’s leadership, Nitish Kumar is our leader, and Nitish Kumar will be our next CM. There is no vacancy for the Chief Minister’s post.
JDU becomes the second-largest party
In the Bihar assembly elections, the BJP and JDU contested 101 seats each. This time, the BJP performed the best, winning 89 seats. The JDU emerged as the second-largest party, winning 85 seats. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), the largest party in the Grand Alliance, suffered its second-worst defeat in three decades.
