Monsoon Update: The weather across the country is showing a marked change these days, resulting in rain in some areas and dense fog in others. Furthermore, due to the activity of a Western Disturbance, a drop in temperature has been recorded in many parts of North India due to rainfall.
In many places, dense fog has reduced visibility, causing difficulties for commuters. People from Delhi-NCR to Bihar have been advised to be cautious of the deteriorating weather conditions.
In the hilly regions of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu and Kashmir, snowfall has closed national highways in several places, disrupting traffic. The snowfall in the mountains is continuously intensifying the cold wave in the plains. The next three days, or 72 hours, are considered crucial. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued warnings for snowfall in some states and rain in others.
Heavy Rainfall Warning in These States
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, a heavy rainfall alert has been issued for Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh. Heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is expected in these areas after 48 hours. Strong winds are expected to blow at a speed of 30 to 45 kilometres per hour.
A sudden drop in temperature is also expected. A warning for rain and snowfall has been issued for Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu and Kashmir on February 1st. Rain is expected in Rajasthan on January 31st.
Weather Forecast for These Regions
According to the Meteorological Department, a severe cold wave is expected in more than 19 districts of India. Intense cold is expected in the morning in Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Kanpur, Bareilly, Meerut, Agra, and Mathura in Uttar Pradesh. Besides these, the effects of the cold wave may also be felt in Gurugram, Rewari, Sonipat, and Panipat in Haryana.
The cold is also expected to affect Mansa, Bathinda, and Fazilka in Punjab. Rain is expected in the national capital, Delhi, i from February 1st to 3rd. Meanwhile, colder temperatures are expected on the morning of January 30th. Sunshine is expected in the afternoon. The maximum temperature is likely to be 19 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature is expected to be 7 degrees Celsius.
Weather in these states
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather in South India is currently different from that in North India. A clear change in weather patterns is visible here as well. The IMD predicts light to moderate rainfall in some coastal areas of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Cloudy skies are expected in Chennai.
