Weather Update: Winter continues to spread in the states of North India. Snowfall occurs in the mountains, and cold waves affect the plains. Punjab, Haryana, and Rajastweather are experiencing more cold weather. Winter’s wrath is also felt in the capital, Delhi, where the pollution level is continuously increasing.
According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature dropped in Tamil Nadu and Kerala due to late-night rain. The weather is going to be very bad in many states. IMD has issued an alert regarding snowfall and rain in some states.
Cold Wave Warning
According to IMD, Himachal Pradesh will experience severe cold from December 19 to December 22. At the same time, there is a possibility of cold in eastern Rajasthan from December 19 to December 21. A similar cold will occur in western Rajasthan from December 20 to December 21.
Similar weather will also prevail in Punjab from December 19 to December 22. From next week, Jammu and Kashmir, Muzaffarabad, Gilgit and Baltistan may also experience severe cold. An alert was issued regarding the cold in Himachal Pradesh and eastern Rajasthan on December 23 and 24.
Dense Fog Alert
According to the Meteorological Department, dense fog may be seen in different areas of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana on December 19. Similarly,
Dense fog may prevail in Jharkhand and eastern Rajasthan on December 20 and 21. Ground frost is also expected the east of Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh from December 19 to 22.
Heavy Rainfall Prediction
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains may be seen in some places in coastal Andhra Pradesh from December 19 to December 20. Meanwhile, heavy rains are also expected in Rayalaseema on December 19. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain with thunderstorms in many areas of coastal Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh and southern Odisha during the next 24 hours. At the same time, an alert has been issued for light to heavy rain in Rayalaseema, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Weather conditions in Delhi
According to the IMD, the effect of the old wave can be seen in the national capital, Delhi, for the next few days. However, rain is not expected here. The maximum temperature in Delhi NCR can be recorded up to 22 degrees till December 25. The minimum temperature is likely to fall to 8 to 10 degrees Celsius.
