Monsoon Update – North India is experiencing bone-chilling cold, causing increasing difficulties for the people. The elderly and children are spending their days sitting by bonfires or heaters from morning till evening. Several states, including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Bihar, are in the grip of this severe cold wave.

Dense fog has enveloped Delhi-NCR and various parts of Uttar Pradesh since early morning. Due to the fog, vehicles have to travel with their indicators on. There is no relief from the cold wave expected in North India in the near future.

Weather in these states

The Meteorological Department has issued a forecast for several states. According to the IMD, a cold wave is expected in West Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar in the next two days. A “cold day” is also expected in the Gangetic plains of West Bengal. Besides these, a severe cold is expected in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Rajasthan.

Weather in Delhi

The severe cold has made life difficult in the national capital, Delhi. The level of cold is expected to increase further. A drop in temperature is expected in Delhi. The minimum temperature is likely to be around 7 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. Dense fog is expected during the morning and night.

Weather in Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh is experiencing a period of bone-chilling cold. Dense fog and icy winds have significantly increased the level of discomfort for the people of UP. Lucknow saw sunshine on Tuesday. ​​Significant temperature fluctuations are also being observed.

Snowfall in these states

Snowfall has made life difficult in the hilly states. The valleys in the hilly regions of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are covered in a blanket of white snow. Snowfall is also being witnessed in the hilly areas of Jammu and Kashmir. These three states may also experience light rainfall.

Rain Alert Issued

The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert with thunderstorms and lightning for several places in Tamil Nadu. Rain is also expected in Kerala, Puducherry, and Andhra Pradesh. Some parts of Telangana and Maharashtra may also receive rainfall.
