Monsoon Update Alert: The impact of the cyclonic storm in the Bay of Bengal could be felt across several states. The IMD has predicted that it will intensify into a severe cyclonic storm in the Bay of Bengal by October 26th and then reach Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam, on the evening or night of October 28th. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall in Jharkhand on October 29th and 30th. An alert has also been issued in Chhattisgarh regarding the possibility of rain.

Cyclonic Storm Threat
According to the Meteorological Centre, a depression formed in the southeastern Bay of Bengal became active on October 25th. This system is expected to move west-northwestward and intensify into a deep depression by October 26th and a cyclonic storm by the morning of October 27th. This system is likely to strengthen into a severe cyclonic storm by October 28th.

Rain Warning in Chhattisgarh
According to the Meteorological Department, rainfall intensity is expected to increase across most parts of Chhattisgarh from October 27th. Light to moderate rain is expected over the next four days in several districts of southern Chhattisgarh, including Dantewada, Bijapur, Sukma, Bastar, Narayanpur, and Kanker. Heavy rain is also possible at isolated places on October 28th, with heavy to hefty rainfall expected there on October 29th.

Heavy Rain Warning in Jharkhand
The Meteorological Department has issued a rain warning for several districts, including Simdega, Seraikela-Kharsawan, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Jamtara, on October 29th and 30th. Light to moderate rain is expected on October 28th, while widespread rain is expected across the state on October 29th and 30th.

Heavy Rain Warning in These States
Due to the cyclonic storm, heavy rain is expected in some areas of Yanam and Rayalaseema in Andhra Pradesh from October 27th to 28th. An alert has also been issued for the entire state of Andhra Pradesh on October 26th. In Odisha, several districts, including Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri, may experience heavy rainfall on October 28th and 29th.
