Aadhaar Card Update: Now the name of father/husband/co-in-law will not be visible in the Aadhaar Card. Only the name of father or co-in-law will be visible in the Aadhaar card of those below 18 years of age. Even in the date of birth, only the year will be visible. All these details will be visible in the internal server. The new system has come into effect from 15th August 2025.

When we saw such a reel in our Insta feed, we were very worried. We felt sad that how could we have missed such important information. We thought that let us apologize to you and will tell you the new updates. But-but-but when we went out to search for these updates, do you know what we found? It’s all about views, Babu Bhaiya. It’s all about views.

Everything is as before in Aadhaar Card

The absence of the father’s/husband’s/co-wife’s name on the Aadhaar card is completely fraudulent . Everything will remain as it was before. In new or updated Aadhaar cards, the father’s or husband’s name is usually marked with “C/0.” However, the full name is written. Similarly, the update regarding the date of birth is also completely bogus. The DOB will appear in the same date/month/year format as before.

If you see such a reel, ignore it. But what we’re about to tell you now shouldn’t be ignored completely. Actually, updating your Aadhaar card has become more expensive. The fees for updating demographic, biometric, and other documents have been increased effective Wednesday, October 1st.

According to UIDAI, Aadhaar holders will now have to pay more for demographic and biometric updates. This means they’ll have to pay more than before for updates ranging from name, address, date of birth, mobile number, or email address to fingerprints. A demographic update, meaning a name, address, date of birth, mobile number, or email address, will cost Rs 75. Previously, the fee for this was Rs 50.

Biometric updates, for everything from fingerprints to eye scans and photo changes, will now cost Rs 125. For any paperwork updates at an Aadhaar center, meaning any changes to your ID or address proof, you’ll now have to pay Rs 75 instead of Rs 50. This service will remain free on the myAadhaar portal until June 14, 2026. By the way, let me share one more important information. If your Aadhaar card hasn’t been updated in the last ten years, visit an Aadhaar center. This is mandatory. You’ll need to update your address or identity information.
