Monsoon Alert: Rajasthan is currently experiencing a severe cold wave. The intense cold has made life very difficult for the people. The Meteorological Department issued a yellow alert for intense cold in 10 cities of the state on Tuesday. However, people may get some relief from the cold after Makar Sankranti. Icy winds are causing bone-chilling cold in Rajasthan. The minimum temperature in Fatehpur, Sikar, was recorded at -2 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours.
According to the Meteorological Department, an orange alert has been issued for fog and a cold wave in 11 districts of Rajasthan on January 12. These include the districts of Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Alwar, Jaipur, Tonk, Dausa, Bharatpur, and Dholpur.
Weather conditions in Mount Abu and Fatehpur
Over the past 24 hours, frost formation was observed in several locations across Sikar, Churu, Jaisalmer, Jhunjhunu, Bikaner, Ganganagar, and Phalodi districts. According to the Meteorological Department, the lowest minimum temperature in the state on Monday was recorded at minus 1 degree Celsius in Mount Abu and minus 0.4 degrees Celsius in Fatehpur. Additionally, the minimum temperature was below 5 degrees Celsius in Jhunjhunu, Lunkaransar, Dausa, Karauli, Sirohi, Nagaur, Ganganagar, Churu, Jaisalmer, Sikar, Pilani, and Alwar.

The Meteorological Department issued a yellow alert for fog and a cold wave across Bikaner, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Alwar, Jaipur, Tonk, Dausa, Bharatpur, and Dholpur districts on January 13.
Minimum temperature recorded at -2 degrees in Sikar
According to the Meteorological Department’s data, more than 15 districts in Rajasthan were affected by fog and cold winds over the last 24 hours. The maximum temperature recorded in Jaipur was 21.9 degrees Celsius. In Rajasthan, the highest maximum temperature was recorded in Pratapgarh at 25.9 degrees Celsius, while the lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Fatehpur Sikar (AWS) at -2 degrees Celsius.
What will the weather be like after January 15th?
According to weather experts, a gradual increase in minimum temperatures is expected in the state from January 15th onwards. Daytime temperatures may also rise by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius. This change is expected to provide some relief from the cold mornings and evenings.
