Monsoon Forecast: The weather is changing rapidly in most parts of India. Some areas are experiencing dense fog, while others have cloudy skies. Snowfall is occurring in the hilly regions, covering the mountains in a white blanket, making the situation increasingly precarious. The falling temperatures are causing intense, bone-chilling cold.

Dense fog has persisted in Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh for several days. However, several areas of western Uttar Pradesh experienced warm sunshine on Sunday morning, leading to a rise in temperature. Rainfall in most parts of South India has caused temperatures to drop. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in several states.

Red Alert Issued for Fog in North India

The IMD has stated that the situation remains most critical in the plains of North India. Day and night temperatures have dropped, and visibility has been reduced to zero in some areas, causing difficulties for commuters.

Delhi-NCR Weather

The minimum temperature in the national capital, Delhi, is expected to drop to 4.6 degrees Celsius, the lowest of the season. The IMD has also issued a yellow alert for the next few days. Air and rail services are likely to be severely affected due to the dense fog.

Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand Weather

The Meteorological Department has stated that the entire region is experiencing a cold wave and cold day conditions. Dense fog is expected in western Uttar Pradesh, and the intense cold is likely to continue until January 12th. The IMD has predicted dense fog in cities like Patna, Ghaziabad, and Lucknow.

Increased Snowfall Expected

A Western Disturbance is active over the mountains, likely causing a change in weather patterns. The IMD has predicted snowfall in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. This will directly impact the plains, bringing cold winds. Frost is also expected in several areas of Uttarakhand, which could be harmful to crops. Heavy Rain Alert

According to the Meteorological Department, the challenging weather conditions are likely to continue in South India. Due to a system developing in the Bay of Bengal, heavy rainfall is expected in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry on January 10th. Rain is also expected in several parts of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Maharashtra.
