iPhone 17 Pro Max: The most exciting time has come for Apple lovers. Like every year, this time too Apple is going to launch its iPhone 17 Series in September and the discussion about its prices in India is in full swing. The biggest question that is going around in the mind of every fan is what will be the effect of the new GST rules on the iPhone 17 Series? Will the price of the new iPhone be a little less this time or will the buyers have to tighten their pockets again?

GST 2.0 and the Truth of Mobile Phones

Ever since the government has announced the new GST rates, speculation has been going on whether this will make electronics, especially smartphones, cheaper. But the truth is that the 18% GST that was earlier applicable on mobile phones continues even now. Whether you buy Apple’s latest iPhone or a budget Android phone, you will have to pay the same tax on both. Its direct meaning is that there is not going to be any positive impact of GST 2.0 on the prices of the new iPhone 17 Series.

That is, the disappointing thing for the buyers is that they will not get any extra benefit of the new GST reforms of the government in iPhone shopping.

Expected Pricing In India

Now let’s talk about prices. According to market experts and analysts, the starting price of iPhone 17 series in India can be around ₹ 79,900. Some analysts like Faisal Kawoosa (Founder, Techarc) say that the price of the base model could also increase as the Indian Rupee has weakened by 5% against the dollar this year. If Apple adjusts according to currency conversion, the cost of the base variant could reach around ₹ 86,000. But leaks and reports suggest that there will not be a major change in the design and features, so there are chances that the price should be kept at ₹ 79,900 only.

iPhone 17 Pro (US): $1,099 ($100 more than the previous $999)

iPhone 17 Pro (India): ₹1,30,000 (up from the previous ₹1,19,900)

iPhone 17 Pro Max (US): $1,199 (price stable)

iPhone 17 Pro Max (India): around ₹1,44,900

The spotlight will be on iPhone 17 Air

International market reports are also pointing towards the same thing. JP Morgan’s report says that the price of the base iPhone 17 in America will remain $799, which is the same as the previous model. Meanwhile, Apple is introducing a new variant this time -iPhone 17 Air, which will replace the Plus model. There is a lot of excitement about this model as it is being called the slimmest iPhone till date. But with a thin design, the manufacturing cost also increases, so it is possible that its price may be a little high. Analysts say that Apple can price this model at ₹ 89,900 or slightly higher, so that it remains attractive to buyers and is easily accepted as a replacement for the Plus model.

Overall, GST 2.0 is not going to have any direct effect on the price of the iPhone 17 series. Apple will follow its normal conversion pattern and prices will largely remain in the range of the previous model. But the new iPhone 17 Air is going to make most of the headlines this time as it is being called the “slimmest iPhone ever”. Due to this model, the interest of buyers is even higher and Apple is also taking a gamble on it.
