New Delhi: The incidents of cloudbursts in Uttarakhand are not stopping, due to which the situation remains bad. Heavy damage has been suffered due to a loud burst in Syoori Phatti of Naugaon Bazaar of Uttarkashi. A residential building has been buried under the debris in the stream. Water and debris from the cloudburst have flooded more than a dozen buildings.

Along with this, there has been a report of a mixer machine and some two-wheelers being swept away in the Devalsari stream. Information has been received about a vehicle being buried under the debris.

Seeing the danger, people have evacuated their homes and reached safe places. NDRF teams have reached for rescue operation, where the work of evacuating the trapped people is going on.

Threat of a landslide due to an earthquake

Along with this, there is a big threat of landslides due to earthquakes in the four hill districts of Uttarakhand. Among these, Rudraprayag is considered to be the most sensitive.

Here for the first time, experts from the Disaster Management and Humanitarian Aid Excellence Centre of IIT Roorkee conducted a district-wise study and released a research report on the dangers of landslides due to earthquakes.
