Vivo Y500 launch date: If you are a Vivo customer, there is good news. The Vivo brand is preparing to launch a new smartphone—the Y500—in global markets. The Vivo Y500 smartphone was originally launched in China last year and features powerful specifications.
Now, this Vivo Y-series smartphone has been spotted on the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) certification website, sparking speculation that it could be released very soon in other global markets, including India. This handset has been sighted with three different model numbers. The Vivo Y500 smartphone features a 6.77-inch display and an 8,200mAh battery.
What to Expect from the Vivo Y500?
The company has not yet officially confirmed details regarding an Indian market release or a global launch. However, certification-related activities often indicate that an announcement about the smartphone is imminent.
The Vivo Y500 was launched in the Chinese market in September of last year. Its 8GB + 128GB RAM and storage configuration was priced at CNY 1,399 (approximately Rs. 17,000).

Speaking of the Chinese variant of the Vivo Y500, it features a 6.77-inch Full HD+ (2,392 × 1,080 pixels) AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC. The phone offers up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 onboard storage.
The Vivo Y500 sports a dual rear camera setup, comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Additionally, an 8-megapixel front camera is available for selfie enthusiasts. It features an 8,200mAh battery that supports 90W wired fast charging. This phone runs on Android 15, with Vivo’s OriginOS 15 pre-installed. Vivo has also incorporated its Aura Light system into this device.

Vivo launched the Vivo Y400 5G in India last August, with a starting price of ₹21,999. The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset. For power backup, the phone is equipped with a 6,000mAh battery that supports 90W wired fast charging. It holds an IP68 + IP69 rating for protection against dust and water. Furthermore, it features a 50-megapixel dual rear camera setup, with a 32-megapixel front camera for selfies.
