Honor Magic V5: Honor has made a splash in the Chinese market with yet another premium foldable smartphone called the Honor Magic V5. This is a book-style foldable phone that is no less than any flagship phone in terms of design, performance and features. The design, display quality, battery backup and camera setup of this new model are all placed in the high-end category. This foldable smartphone from Honor is for those who want a powerful and stylish experience.

Big Display

The biggest highlight of the Honor Magic V5 is its foldable 7.95-inch OLED display that supports 2K resolution. When the phone is folded, you will find a 6.45-inch LTPO OLED cover screen outside – this means you don’t have to unfold the phone every time to use it. The brightness of the inner display can go up to 5,000 nits and it has 4,320Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, which provides more comfort to the eyes – especially during long use.

Power Packed

For performance lovers, Honor Magic V5 is a complete power house. This phone has Qualcomm’s flagship processor Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, which is considered perfect for speed, efficiency and multitasking. In different variants of the phone, you can get up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage, which makes this phone future-ready. This phone runs on Android 15-based MagicOS 9.1 and it also has Deepseek AI productivity tools, which make work smart and efficient.

Camera Setup

The camera module of Honor Magic V5 has also been made quite advanced. On the back side you will get a triple rear camera setup, which includes a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 64MP periscope telephoto camera. Along with the telephoto lens, you get 3x optical zoom and OIS (optical image stabilization), which makes the photos sharp and blur-free. For selfies, the phone has two 20MP sensors – one on the inner display and one on the cover screen, so that you can capture quality video calls or selfies in every mode.

Battery Life

Honor has not made any compromises in the battery department either. The top variant comes with a 6,100mAh battery, while the other variants have a 5,820mAh battery pack. Both variants support fast charging – 66W for wired charging and 50W for wireless charging. This means you can charge the phone in just a few minutes and use it for a long time without worrying about the battery running out repeatedly.

Strong Build

The Honor Magic V5 is also quite impressive when it comes to durability. The phone has IP58 and IP59 dust and water resistance ratings, which means that it is reliable even in the rough conditions of daily usage. When the phone is folded, its thickness is 8.8mm, and when unfolded, it becomes just 4.1mm thinner. It weighs around 217 grams – which is quite balanced and easy-to-carry for a foldable phone.

Connectivity Options

The connectivity options are also quite updated. The phone has dual nano SIM, 5G and 4G support along with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C port. All of these together make this phone a complete flagship experience.

When will it come to India?

So far, this phone has been launched only in China, where the base variant is available for CNY 8,999 – which roughly translates to ₹1,07,500 in India. The other variants – 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB – are priced around ₹1.19 lakh and ₹1.31 lakh respectively.
