School Summer Holiday:- Most states are currently experiencing severe heat. Alerts regarding intense heat and heatwaves have been issued for several states. The Meteorological Department has advised against venturing outdoors during the afternoon hours. Consequently, children and their parents are eagerly awaiting their summer vacations.
Due to the severe heatwave, most schools had already declared holidays back in May; these holidays are set to continue throughout June. Prioritising children’s health, school holidays were announced earlier than usual this time. So, let’s find out exactly where schools will remain closed during the month of June.
Delhi School Closed: Schools will remain closed until June 30, with classes resuming on July 1. Summer vacations have already commenced in schools across Uttar Pradesh.
UP School Closed: The Summer Holidays are expected to last throughout June. Most schools are anticipated to reopen in mid-to-late June or in early July.
Haryana School Closed: Schools across the entire state of Haryana will remain closed for the month of June.
Rajasthan School Closed: Summer holidays are scheduled from May 17 to June 20.
Bihar School Closed: The summer holidays are scheduled from June 1 to June 20. Consequently, schools in this region will remain open until mid-June.
Chhattisgarh School Closed: Schools in the state will remain closed until June 15.
In accordance with the standard summer schedule for Delhi-NCR, summer vacations are set to begin on May 22 for most private and government schools. Meanwhile, in Ghaziabad, the district administration has announced the closure of all schools—across all educational boards—due to the rising temperatures.
The summer vacations for schools in Jammu and Kashmir have now been officially declared. The state’s Education Minister, Sakina Itoo, shared a post on the social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), stating that taking this step was absolutely essential given the children’s health and the prevailing weather conditions. It is worth noting that in several areas of Jammu and Samba, temperatures have consistently been soaring above 43 to 45 degrees Celsius.
