: Candidates appearing for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) 2026 are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the new exam dates. The National Testing Agency () has temporarily postponed the CUET-UG examination originally scheduled for May 28, 2026.

The new examination dates for the candidates will be announced very soon. However, the NTA has not yet officially declared the revised dates. Consequently, candidates are advised to regularly monitor the official websites—cuet.nta.nic.in and nta.ac.in—for updates.

According to media reports, the new exam dates are likely to be released in the coming days. It is speculated that the CUET-UG examination may be conducted during the first week of June. However, the exact dates will only become clear following an official notification from the NTA. Therefore, students are advised to disregard rumours circulating on social media and rely solely on official information.

Why was the CUET-UG Exam postponed?
In an official notification, the NTA stated that the examinations scheduled for May 28 (across both shifts) have been temporarily postponed. This decision was taken following a change in the date of the Eid al-Adha holiday. In light of the revised holiday date—as per a notification issued by the Central Government—it became necessary to modify the examination schedule.

Posting on the social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), the NTA wrote: “The examinations scheduled for 28 May 2026 (both shifts) stand postponed — in view of the change in the date of the Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) holiday as per the Government of India notification. Revised exam dates for affected candidates will be announced shortly.”

It is worth noting that the CUET-UG is one of the largest entrance examinations in the country, serving as the gateway for admission into undergraduate courses at various institutions, including Central Universities, as well as numerous State, Private, and Deemed-to-be Universities.
