PM Kisan 22nd Installment : With the start of the new year, millions of farmers across the country are waiting for the next installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. This time the discussion is about the 22nd installment, but the government has clearly warned that if certain important tasks are not completed, the ₹2000 installment may be delayed. Under the PM Kisan Yojana, eligible farmers are given ₹6000 annually, which is deposited directly into their bank accounts in three installments. So far, 21 installments have been released, and farmers are eagerly awaiting the next installment.

When will the 22nd installment come?

According to media reports, the 22nd installment may be released around February or March 2026, although no official date has been announced by the government yet. Farmers are being advised to regularly check the PM Kisan portal. It is worth noting that the 21st installment was released on November 19th by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, in which more than ₹18,000 crore was transferred via DBT to the accounts of approximately 9 crore farmers.

What has changed?

The biggest change this time is the mandatory requirement of a Farmer ID. Previously, simply completing e-KYC was considered sufficient, but now the government has clarified that farmers who do not have a unique Farmer ID may have their next installment withheld, even if e-KYC is complete. Farmer ID is a digital identity linked to land records, crop information, and other details. Its purpose is to ensure that only genuine and eligible farmers receive the benefits of the scheme.

Along with Farmer ID, e-KYC is still required. e-KYC can be done online through the website, through biometrics at a CSC center, or through face authentication in a mobile app. Furthermore, discrepancies in bank account and Aadhaar details, incorrect name spelling, account closure, or unupdated land records can also cause installments to be stuck. If payments are stuck, farmers can contact the CSC center, bank, agriculture department, or helpline number 1800-115-526 / 011-23381092. Completing all formalities on time will ensure the ₹2000 installment reaches the account without any interruption.
