Vande Bharat Sleeper Train: Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently flagged off four new Vande Bharat Express trains. However, the country’s first Vande Bharat Sleeper Train has not yet been launched. A senior North Western Railway official stated that the country’s first Vande Bharat Sleeper Coach Maintenance Service will be ready in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, by mid-2026.

The senior divisional mechanic of the North Western Railway stated that this depot will elevate Indian Railways’ technological capabilities to a new level. The first phase of this depot is expected to be completed by June 2026, with a 600-meter track being laid. The second phase, which will add 178 meters of track, a workshop, and a simulator facility, is expected to be completed by June 2027.
