Soil Health Card Scheme: For farmers, soil is the foundation of their farming. If soil quality is strong, crops are better, and increased production is natural. The Soil Health Card Scheme is being rapidly implemented to inform farmers about the actual condition of their soil. Agriculture department teams are visiting villages and collecting samples from fields, so that after testing, they can provide farmers with appropriate fertilizer and nutrient recommendations.
According to District Agriculture Officer Sant Lal Gupta, every farmer will be provided with a soil health card, which will contain a complete report on soil pH levels, organic carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, potash, and micronutrients. It will also provide guidelines for improving soil quality and balanced fertilizer use.

Why is this initiative important?
Receiving a soil health card provides farmers with clear information about which nutrients are lacking in their land and the appropriate amount of fertilizer to use. This reduces farming costs, increases crop production, and maintains soil fertility over the long term. The Agriculture Department aims to distribute these cards to all registered farmers in the district on time. To this end, camps are being organized at the block level to prevent the uncontrolled use of chemical fertilizers and encourage farmers to adopt scientific farming.
