PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana – Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the government has so far released 21 instalments of ₹2,000 each. Meanwhile, farmer organisations are now demanding that the instalment amount be doubled. It’s believed that farmers will benefit greatly if the scheme’s instalment amount is doubled. The government could increase the annual amount to ₹12,000.

If this happens, it would be good news. Currently, employees receive ₹6,000 annually. Whether the instalment amount will increase is not officially clear. You can learn important details about this in the news below.

How much will the instalment amount be after the increase?

Doubling the amount under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana would be like a booster dose. Under this scheme, farmers would once again receive a ₹4,000 instalment. This means that ₹12,000 will be provided annually in three instalments of ₹4,000. This is sure to be a hit for farmers.

Farmer organisations have long been demanding an increase in the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) amount. Approximately 120 million farmers are registered under this scheme. Approximately 90 million farmers benefited from the 21st instalment. Only farmers who had completed e-KYC procedures received the benefit. If you didn’t complete e-KYC, the instalment payment was lost.

Major Demand of Farmer Organisations

For information, most farmer unions in India have been demanding an increase in the amount received under the scheme. However, the government has yet to clarify its stance on this. Everyone is only hoping, but the government is still not agreeing to it.

If the government announces an increase in the instalment amount in the 2026 and 2027 financial budgets, the amount could double in the 22nd instalment. The government is expected to decide on this during the budget session. No information has yet been released by the Agriculture Ministry or any other government body.
