What’s the Ladli Behna Yojana all about?
The Ladli Behna Yojana was introduced by the previous Shivraj Singh Chouhan government back in May 2023. This scheme offers Rs 1,000 to married women aged between 21 and 60. Initially, this amount was later raised to Rs 1,250 and then to Rs 1,500.
As the 31st installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana, Rs 1,857 crore was transferred to the accounts of 12.6 million women. However, this time, Rs 1,836 crore was transferred to the accounts of 12.5 million women. This means thousands of names have been removed from the scheme. In fact, under the eligibility criteria, a woman can only benefit from this scheme until she reaches the age of 60. Women who have reached the age of 60 will not receive the benefits.
