WhatsApp is preparing to introduce a new cover photo feature to enhance the user profile experience on its iOS platform. With this feature, users will be able to add not only a profile picture but also a large cover image to their profile. This change seems to be moving WhatsApp from a traditional messaging app towards a more personal and social platform.

New Profile Layout Spotted in Beta Version
According to WABetaInfo, a website that tracks new WhatsApp features, this cover photo feature has been spotted in WhatsApp beta version 26.1.10.71 for iOS. This update is currently available to a select group of users via TestFlight. According to the report, WhatsApp is creating a new section in the profile interface where the cover photo will be displayed directly above the profile picture. This layout will be quite similar to the profile design of Facebook and LinkedIn.

Cover Photo Setting Process Similar to WhatsApp Business
The process of selecting and setting a cover photo may be similar to the process available in WhatsApp Business accounts. Users will be able to tap on the cover photo section to take a new photo with the camera or choose an image from their phone’s gallery. It will also be possible to reposition or change the cover photo if needed. Once the feature is active, this cover image will be visible in the user’s profile settings and when contacts view their profile.

Furthermore, a new event reminder feature has been introduced for group chats, allowing users to set custom reminders for events in advance.
