This scheme is specifically for women from economically weaker sections. Widows, disabled women, and women from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes are also given priority under this scheme.Free Silai Machine Yojana is a government scheme that provides free sewing machines to women between the ages of 20 and 40. The aim of this scheme is to encourage women to become self-employed and provide them with financial independence. Along with receiving sewing machines, women are also provided with tailoring training to help them run their businesses efficiently.

Benefits you can get

This scheme primarily benefits women from BPL (Below Poverty Line) families with an annual income of less than ₹1.44 lakh. Women receive a sewing machine along with financial assistance of ₹15,000 to purchase a sewing machine or acquire a machine equipped with new technology. Women are also provided with ₹500 per day during training to help them become financially independent. The government aims to select approximately 50,000 women beneficiaries from each state under this scheme. Special attention is always given to women with disabilities, widows, and economically weaker sections of society. This scheme provides women beneficiaries with the opportunity to work from home, which also helps them meet their family responsibilities.
