Jharkhand DA Hike: Before Diwali, the central government increased the dearness allowance and relief rates of central employees and pensioners by 3%, after which the DA has increased from 55% to 58% from July 2025. After the Centre, now state governments have also started announcing DA/DR hike. After Rajasthan, Bihar, Gujarat, Tripura, Odisha and Arunachal, now the Hemant Soren government of Jharkhand has increased the dearness allowance of employees and pensioners covered under the 7th Pay Commission by 3%.

After this decision, the dearness allowance of state employees and pensioners has increased from 55% to 58%. The new rates will be applicable from July 1, 2025, hence arrears will also be given. In fact, on Tuesday, an important cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, in which 24 major proposals were approved. This included a three percent increase in the dearness allowance (DA) of government employees and dearness relief (DR) for pensioners.

This increased DA rate has increased from 55 percent to 58 percent. Employees and pensioners previously received 55 percent DA and DR, respectively. This increase will be effective from July 1st, and arrears for July, August, and September 2025 will also be paid. This decision will benefit three lakh state government employees and pensioners. The increased DA will be paid in November along with the October salary.
