DA Hike 2025: Big news for state govt employees. The Nayab Singh Saini government of Haryana has given a big gift to employees and pensioners during the festive season. The government has announced a 3 percent increase in dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR).

Now, employees and pensioners will receive 58 percent DA and DR instead of 55 percent. This increased dearness allowance will be effective from July 1, 2025. Employees are expected to receive the increased salary in November. Amidst rising inflation, this move is a matter of relief for thousands of state employees.

According to an FPJ report, this increase will benefit approximately 600,000 employees, including 300,000 regular employees and 300,000 pensioners. The state’s Finance Department issued an official order confirming the increase. This increase is in line with the central government’s periodic DA revisions, which ensure that state employees are protected from the pressures of inflation.

The government also clarified that the increased rates of DA and DR will be paid with the salary and pension for the month of October, while arrears for July to September will be paid in November. The revised DA and DR (Dearness Relief) will apply to both serving employees and pensioners, including family pensioners. This will provide some relief to both employees and pensioners. Employees and pensioners say that this increase was necessary in this era of inflation, while the government says that this decision was taken keeping in mind the difficulties faced by employees.

There are also certain rules for calculating DA and DR. Any amount that results in a difference of 50 paise or more will be rounded up to the next whole rupee. However, amounts less than 50 paise will be ignored. This will simplify the calculations.
