Now, Aadhaar can be created for children below 5 years of age in a matter of minutes, and at no charge. All you need to do is go to the post office with the child’s birth certificate and one of the guardian’s Aadhaar. Once the initial document verification and your biometric verification are completed, the Aadhaar enrolment will be completed. The special feature of this service is that it is completely hassle-free, no long queues, no extra paperwork and no extra charges. The post office officials will personally assist you in this process and you can also contact your local postman or GDS if required.

How to collect child Aadhaar card from post office?

First, parents need to visit their nearest post office. At the Aadhaar enrolment centre, they will have to show the child’s birth certificate and the Aadhaar of both the father and mother. After that, the officials will do biometric verification. Then a photograph of the child is taken and the Aadhaar enrolment is completed digitally. Within a few minutes, your application is registered. After a few days, the Aadhaar card is sent to your address by post and e-Aadhaar is issued.
