While millions of farmers nationwide are still waiting for the 22nd installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, the Haryana government has stepped in to offer substantial relief to farmers and other beneficiaries. On Monday, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini directly transferred funds into the accounts of thousands of individuals through various government schemes. The largest sum was allocated to farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.
Farmers whose crops were affected during Kharif 2025 have begun to receive compensation through the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. The Chief Minister executed a transfer of Rs 711.69 billion (711.69 billion rupees) to the bank accounts of 167,460 farmers with just one click. According to government reports, around Rs 16,160 crore (161.6 billion rupees) has been disbursed to farmers over the last 11 years under the crop loss compensation and crop insurance programs.
Payments also made to commission agents?
In addition to farmers, commission agents in the state have also received payments. The government has transferred about Rs 56.97 million to the accounts of 11,199 commission agents. This disbursement was made for the 2025-26 Kharif procurement season. The government had previously decided to pay commission agents Rs 55 per quintal for the purchase of wheat, paddy, and millet. Now, in addition to the commission set by the central government, the remaining amount has also been provided by the state government.
Advantages of social security schemes
The government has also allocated significant funds for social security schemes. The Chief Minister transferred a total of Rs 842.92 billion to the accounts of 2.612 million beneficiaries. This sum includes old-age pensions, disability pensions, and various other social pension schemes.
Beneficiaries were also provided financial assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin). The government transferred approximately Rs 67 crore to the accounts of 12,353 families for house construction. Since 2016-17, more than Rs 720 crore has been disbursed to beneficiaries under this scheme.
What is Dayalu Yojana that supports families?
Additionally, financial assistance of Rs 205.42 million was provided to 5,409 families under the Dayalu Yojana (Dayalu Yojana). This scheme was launched to help families whose members are injured by stray animal attacks or die in accidents. The government said that under all these schemes, a total of about Rs 1,884 crore was transferred directly to the accounts of the beneficiaries on Monday.
