Bank Holiday January: Big news for bank customers. Banks will be shut for up to 16 days nationwide in January 2026, but this can differ by state. They’re also closed on weekends. Specifically, banks are closed every Sunday and on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. So, they’ll be closed on January 4, 11, 18, and 25 for Sundays, and on January 10 and 24 for the second and fourth Saturdays. This list of bank holidays comes from the RBI.
