Bank Holiday List October : The festive season has begun across the country, and the festivities have intensified with Navratri in late September. Major festivals like Dussehra, Karva Chauth, Diwali, and Chhath Puja will be celebrated in October, which will impact bank holidays.

October 1: Navratri End, Mahanavami, Dussehra – Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Gangtok, Guwahati, Itanagar, Kanpur, Kochi, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, Shillong and Thiruvananthapuram.
October 2: Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, Dussehra, Vijayadashami and Durga Puja – Banks closed across the country.
October 3-4: Durga Puja – Gangtok.
October 6: Lakshmi Puja – Agartala and Kolkata.
October 7: Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti – Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh and Shimla.
October 10: Karwa Chauth – Shimla.
October 18: Kati Bihu – Guwahati.
October 20: Diwali, Naraka Chaturdashi and Kali Puja – 25 major cities including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, New Delhi, Lucknow, Chennai.
October 21: Diwali Amavasya and Govardhan Puja – Belapur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Gangtok, Imphal, Jammu, Mumbai, Nagpur and Srinagar.
October 22: Diwali, Vikram Samvat New Year, Balipadami and Lakshmi Puja – Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Dehradun, Gangtok, Jaipur, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur and Patna.
October 23: Bhai Dooj, Bhatri Dwitiya, Chitragupta Jayanti and Lakshmi Puja – Ahmedabad, Gangtok, Imphal, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow and Shimla.
October 27-28: Chhath Puja – Kolkata, Patna and Ranchi.
October 31: Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary – Ahmedabad.
As weekly holidays, banks will remain closed on second and fourth Saturdays (October 11 and 25) and all Sundays (October 5, 12, 19 and 26).
