The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has started a web portal for this. This portal lets users check the mobile numbers issued in their name. This system is called ‘Telecom Analytics for Fraud Management and Consumer Protection’ (TAFCOP).

Using this portal, citizens can see all the SIM cards linked to their Aadhaar. According to DoT rules, a person can link up to 9 mobile numbers with one Aadhaar card.

The TAFCOP portal helps people stay safe. You can report mobile numbers you don’t use or don’t know. This stops fraud linked to your Aadhaar card.

The portal says:

“This website helps customers check how many mobile numbers are in their name and fix extra ones. But mobile companies must manage the Customer Acquisition Form (CAF).”

Why link a mobile number to Aadhaar?

A mobile number is important for Aadhaar. It helps you get OTPs for verification, use online services like eKYC, get government benefits, and do banking. It also keeps your Aadhaar details safe and updated. Linking a mobile number supports Digital India by helping people access services easily and safely.

How many Aadhaar cards can use one mobile number?

  1. There is no strict limit. But UIDAI suggests linking your mobile number only with your Aadhaar. This is because it is used for OTP-based services.
  2. Sometimes one number is used for many Aadhaar cards, such as:
  3. Family use: One mobile number is shared in a family, mostly in rural areas.
  4. Office use: A company or group may use one mobile number for many Aadhaar-linked services.
  5. Each Aadhaar must have at least one mobile number to get OTPs and use online services.
  6. Aadhaar OTP
  7. Your main mobile number is needed to get OTPs for Aadhaar verification or updates. Keep it active and valid to avoid problems with Aadhaar services.
