Mahindra XEV 9S: Electric SUVs are steadily gaining momentum and now Mahindra is also preparing to change the game with its new three-row EV. Launch Date

Mahindra has confirmed that the Mahindra XEV 9S will be launched on 27 November. With the launch it will become Mahindra’s first fully electric three-row SUV, proving to be a new strong option for family-focused buyers.

New Bold Design

Let me tell you that the design of the XEV 9S in the new teaser looks absolutely fresh and modern. The SUV is given a stacked headlamp layout, which is completely different from the current XUV700’s ICE model. Its purpose is to create a clean identity between the EV variants and the ICE variants.

Also Boomerang-style LED DRLs, new Twin Peaks logo, sleek tail-lamp elements and shark fin antenna give it a premium EV look. The rear stance in the teaser appears to resemble the XUV700 to a large extent, making the SUV look more balanced and bold than before.

Triple-Screen Dashboard

Speaking of interior, Mahindra has continued the signature style of the entire electric lineup this time. The wide triple-screen panel fitted to the cabin gives the dashboard a futuristic look. This is the same digital-heavy design language also seen in Mahindra’s XEV 9e and BE 6 SUVs.

A glimpse of the first two cries has been found in the teaser, but the company is still hiding the third row. The real challenge is — it is not easy to fit in a three-row functional layout EV. However, given the modularity of Mahindra’s INGLO platform, it is expected that the third row will also be packaged smartly.

Performance and Range Expected

Talking about its Performance, XEV 9S and the rest of Mahindra’s Born Electric SUVs are based on the same architecture. It is therefore expected that similar battery packs and motor outputs will be given in 9S as well.

It will weigh slightly more than the rest of the models, which may make a slight difference in its range and performance. Still it is expected to deliver 500+ km range in real-world condition, making it a strong choice for long-distance EV buyers.

Mahindra’s Born Electric lineup has already taken five-star rating in terms of safety — XEV 9e and BE 6 have both acquired five stars. Similarly, XEV 9S will also come with high safety stands.
