It scored 29.65 points in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 44.9 points in Child Occupant Protection (COP). In terms of pricing, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno ranges from ₹6.74 lakh to ₹9.96 lakh (ex-showroom). The Tata Altroz, on the other hand, is priced from ₹6.89 lakh to ₹11.29 lakh (ex-showroom). The Baleno is priced slightly lower than the Altroz, and the reason is clear. The Baleno comes only with petrol and CNG engines, with MT and AMT gearboxes. The Altroz offers three engine options: petrol, diesel, and CNG. Additionally, it offers options like MT, AMT, and DCA (dual-clutch automatic). This is why the Altroz’s top variants are more expensive than the Baleno.
Sales Figures
In terms of sales figures, the Altroz may be better in terms of safety and engine options, but when it comes to sales, the Baleno wins hands down. In FY2025, Maruti Suzuki sold 167,161 units of the Baleno, while Tata Altroz sales were limited to just 35,187 units. This means the Baleno is much more popular in terms of sales.
