Amrit Bharat Express: Good news for railway passengers. There’s great news for rail travellers in the Mithila region. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav will flag off the Amrit Bharat Express, running between Jaipur (Khatipura) and Darbhanga, on June 21st. This new train service will operate six days a week and provide a new impetus to travel between Rajasthan and Bihar.
The train’s operation will provide convenience to millions of passengers travelling for employment, education, business, and family purposes. It will also strengthen social, cultural, and economic ties between the two states.
According to reports, the Amrit Bharat Express, which operates between Jaipur and Darbhanga, is set to include the Sitamarhi route on its route. Jaipur’s Member of Parliament, Manju Sharma, had appealed to the Railway Minister to introduce this train. Subsequently, the Railway Ministry responded to the MP’s request by recently announcing the service. With the launch date now confirmed, passengers are eagerly anticipating the inauguration.

The Jaipur (Khatipura) – Darbhanga Amrit Bharat Express is scheduled to make stops at various stations including Dausa, Bandikui, Mandawar Mahuva Road, Bharatpur, Idgah, Agra, Tundla, Etawah, Kanpur Central, Barabanki, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Kaptanganj, Bagaha, Narkatiaganj, Raxaul, Bairgania, Sitamarhi, Janakpur Road, and Kamtaul, as per information from the Railways.
The railway authorities are confident that this train will offer passengers a safer, more convenient, and more comfortable travel option. Presently, there is a weekly train service from Ajmer to Darbhanga, but the new Amrit Bharat Express will enhance passenger convenience by operating six days a week.
Jaipur is renowned for its vibrant cultural heritage, tourism, and industrial growth, while Darbhanga is a significant hub of Mithila culture, education, and historical significance. The introduction of this new rail service is expected to foster cultural exchange and boost economic activities between these two regions.

In response to the announcement of the train’s inauguration, BJP Bihar State Treasurer Ankur Gupta expressed appreciation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. He commended the Railway Minister for focusing on the Mithila region and highlighted the completion of the long-pending doubling of the Darbhanga-Samastipur railway line. Gupta also expressed optimism about the imminent introduction of the Vande Bharat Express service from Darbhanga, along with ongoing efforts to transform Darbhanga Junction into a world-class railway station.
