Whenever a new car arrives in the SUV market, everyone’s eyes are on it. Now Renault has again caught everyone’s attention with its new Renault Boreal SUV, which was introduced in July 2025 by Globally. This SUV is actually a 7-seater version of the new-generation Duster, which will be sold in more than 71 countries, including markets such as Brazil, Latin America and Europe.

Launch
Talking about the launch, Renault has already confirmed that it is preparing to launch a premium three-row SUV in India. This SUV will be based on the Duster platform, ie “Duster DNA ” is flirting in both its design and performance.
The same 5-seater Renault Duster of its next generation is expected to arrive in Indian showrooms in the first half of 2026, while its 7-seater version i.e. Renault Boreal may launch in India in late 2026 or early 2027.

This SUV will compete directly after launch from popular family SUVs such as Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar.
Engine
Renault Boreal’s engine lineup will remain the same as Duster’s. This SUV in India is likely to come with two petrol engine options. It will have a 1.3L turbo petrol engine and another 1.2L mild-hybrid engine. The company will also launch its strong-hybrid variant later.
For the Brazilian market, Boreal is being offered with a 1.3L TCe turbo flex powertrain, which gives power of 163bhp and torque of 269.6Nm. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be found in transmission options.
