Maruti Motors is going to bang the Indian SUV market again. After Grand Vitara and Victoria, the company is now going to directly challenge Hyundai Creta and its Electric Version with its third SUV, e Vitara. Given the increasing demand for Electric SUVs in the Indian market, Maruti has prepared it exclusively, which will prove to be a top class not just in Design and Features, but also in Technology.

Launch
Maruti unveiled the e-Vitara at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo in January 2025. Since then, buzz around the SUV has been steadily increasing. According to reports, the e-Vitara is expected to launch in December 2025. This SUV will compete directly with electric SUVs like the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv.ev, and Mahindra BE6.

Features and Interior
The e Vitara, which was first showcased at the 2025 Auto Expo, comes with some of the best and Maruti’s first-ever features. It includes features like Level 2 ADAS, 10.1-inch touchscreen system, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, Powered & Ventilated Front Seats, 360-degree camera, 7 airbags and Reclining Rear Seats.
While ADAS and Digital Cluster were introduced in the Victorias, Maruti is likely to introduce some more new features in the e Vitara, making it the most advanced electric SUV in the segment. Its cabin has been designed with a comfortable, high-tech and premium touch.

Performance
Talking about its performance, e Vitara in Global Market is available with two battery options — 49 kWh and 61 kWh. It mainly comes in Front-Wheel Drive (FWD), but Top Specs also has the option of All-Wheel Drive (AWD). The SUV with its 49 kWh battery gives 144bhp Power and 189Nm Torque. The same 61 kWh AWD top model gets 184bhp Power and 300Nm Torque.

However, according to some reports in the Indian market, Maruti cannot include the AWD option, so that prices remain more affordable. It is estimated that e Vitara will cost between Rs 17 lakh to Rs 24 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
