Mahindra XEV 9S: Electric SUVs are no longer just eco-friendly machines, but have become a new combination of future-ready tech, premium comfort and powerful performance. At the same speed, Mahindra has launched its first all-electric 7-seater SUV – XEV 9S. 𝗠𝗔𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗥𝗔 𝗫𝗘𝗩 𝟵𝗦
XEV 9S is the brand’s first three-row all-electric SUV and has been built keeping in mind the premium lifestyle segment from the beginning. The XEV 9S, prepared on Mahindra’s new INGLO skateboard architecture, gets a flat-floor design, which makes the cabin space so large that Mahindra describes it as a usable interior space over 4,000 litres.

If we talk about its design, the XEV 9S is not just big, but also quite practical. Its 10-metre turning circle makes it surprisingly agile in the city crowd, while 205 mm ground clearance confidences on rough roads and highways.
𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘
The Mahindra XEV 9S comes with three battery packs. 59 kWh, 70 kWh, and 79 kWh. Electric motors associated with these packs produce power up to 210 kW and 380 Nm torque.
According to the company the SUV gives a real-world range of about 500 km and 0–100 km / h catches just 7 seconds, making it one of the fastest electric 7-seater SUVs in the country.

Fast charging is also a strong point. Mahindra claims that with the help of a DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in less than 20 minutes. Whether for long trips or daily commutes charging anxiety will be lessened here.
𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗢𝗥
Talking about Interior, the first thing to see is sitting in the cabin on its futuristic coast-to-coast triple-screen setup, which runs on Qualcomm’s latest chipset. Mahindra has used premium upholstery and soft-touch materials to deliver lounge-type comfort. Wireless is icing on the cake for Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and 16-speaker Harman Kardon + Dolby Atmos system entertainment lovers.

Talking about its advance features, its Higher variants include Augmented Reality Head-Up Display, AutoPark Assist, and advanced driver monitoring system. The same is its Seats ventilated which gives sliding/reclining functions, and also gets boss mode which clears that Mahindra has taken the passenger comfort very seriously.

Now talk about the price, XEV 9S comes in three variants — Pack One, Pack Two, and Pack Three. Top-spec Pack Three Above (79 kWh) costs ₹29.45 lakhs and contains premium add-ons such as adaptive Suspension, advanced ADAS hardware and enhanced connectivity features.

Its bookings will start from 14 January 2026 and test drives will be available from 5 January. Deliveries are planned to start from 23 January 2026. Running cost is being reported to be just ₹1.2/km, making this SUV electric ownership quite affordable.
