Mahindra Vision S Launch 2026: New Compact SUV from Mahindra & Mahindra’s Scorpio Family

Mahindra Vision S Compact SUV: If you’re a fan of Mahindra’s rugged vehicles, get ready because the ‘small Scorpio’ is about to wreak havoc on Indian roads. Mahindra is in the final stages of launching its new sub-4-meter compact SUV, the Mahindra Vision S. Unveiled on Independence Day last year, the concept model captured global attention, and now, production-ready testing photos are setting the internet ablaze. This SUV could not only be part of the Scorpio family, but with its boxy design and modern features like a panoramic sunroof, it’s poised to rival the likes of the Tata Nexon and Maruti Brezza.

Design and Look

The production model of the Mahindra Vision-S is based on the company’s all-new design language, giving it a distinct road presence. Recently released renders and spy images clearly reveal its aggressive and muscular front end. It features Mahindra’s signature grille with vertical slats, giving it a massive SUV feel.

Additionally, it features round projector LED headlamps with dual-function LED DRLs, giving it a modern and rugged look. The massive bumper, fog lamp assembly, and faux skid plates give it a formidable road presence, making it even more practical and powerful than the concept model.

Side and Rear Profile

Looking at the side profile, the vehicle features heavy cladding around the wheel arches and below the doors, giving it a true off-road feel. Roof rails and a shark-fin antenna further enhance its sporty character. At the rear, Mahindra has retained the tailgate-mounted spare wheel, a favorite among Scorpio enthusiasts.

Inverted ‘L’-shaped LED taillights and reverse lamps integrated into the bumper complete the look. Although the test mule doesn’t feature adventure accessories like the side ladders seen on the concept, its boxy and tall appearance puts it at the forefront of the rugged SUV category.

Panoramic Sunroof and Features

The Mahindra Vision-S’s interior is not only practical but also highly hi-tech. A major highlight of the production model will be its panoramic sunroof, a first for the compact segment. Inside the cabin, several physical buttons are placed below the center console to make controlling features easy, even during fast driving.

Mahindra Vision SXT

On the dashboard, you’ll find a traditional analog instrument cluster along with a small multi-information display (MID) that provides essential vehicle information. Fabric seat upholstery and manually adjustable AC dials are expected, making it an excellent value-for-money entry-level option. Mahindra has made every effort to provide ample legroom and headroom for a comfortable family ride.

Engine and Performance

Mahindra has made no compromises on speed and power with the Vision-S. It is expected to use the same reliable 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder diesel engine as the XUV 3XO. This powerful engine produces 117 bhp and 300 Nm of torque, making it one of the most powerful diesel vehicles in its segment.

This engine will be available with both 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options to suit every driver’s preference. Mahindra may also specifically tune this engine to suit the Vision-S’s weight and size, ensuring unmatched power and excellent fuel efficiency in both heavy city traffic and rugged mountain terrain.
