Japanese automaker Honda, which has been operating in India with a limited car lineup for a long time, is now preparing for a full-fledged comeback. Currently, the company only has four models – the Amaze, City, City Hybrid, and Elevate – which has resulted in its market share falling below 5%. But now Honda’s focus is clear: it plans to launch 10 new cars in India by 2030, seven of which will be SUVs.

Honda 0 Series

Honda recently introduced two of its luxurious Electric SUV Concepts at Japan Mobility Show 2025 – Honda 0 Alpha and Honda 0 SUV. Both will be launched in India by 2027.

0 Alpha will be the mass-market electric SUV for India, while 0 SUV will come as a premium imported model. The special thing is that the battery pack of 0 Alpha will be sourced from Indonesia and will be manufactured in India itself, so that it can be exported to other countries of Asia as well.

Sub-4 Metre Segment

India’s sub-4 metre car segment has always been extremely popular, as it is an affordable, compact and tax-benefit segment. Honda has confirmed that she will re-enter the segment.

The company currently has only Honda Amaze in this segment, but is also preparing to offer Honda sub-4 metre SUVs in the future. The move will give the company a tough competition from brands such as Maruti, Tata and Hyundai.

Hybrid Cars

Currently, the Honda City Hybrid is the company’s only hybrid car, but this will change in the coming years. The company is preparing to launch several new hybrid models. Some of these models will be Made in India, while others will be imported as CKD (Completely Knocked Down) or CBU (Completely Built Unit) units.
