Monsoon Update: Delhi residents woke up to rain this morning. The rain has further intensified the cold. Light rain is expected across Delhi-NCR. Most states are experiencing severe cold. People are suffering greatly due to the harsh cold and dense fog. Although most states are experiencing biting cold, several states are still receiving rainfall. Last year, the country experienced heavy rainfall during and after the monsoon season, and favourable rainfall is also forecast this year. Amid severe cold, the Indian Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rainfall across several states over the next three days. Rain Forecast for Delhi
According to the Meteorological Department, light rain is expected in several areas of Delhi in the next two hours. According to the weather department, light rain may be recorded in many areas, including Mundka, Paschim Vihar, Rajouri Garden, Buddha Jayanti Park, President’s House, Rajiv Chowk, Jafarpur, Najafgarh, Dwarka, Delhi Cantt, Palam, IGI Airport, Akshardham, Lodhi Road, and Nehru Stadium.

Rain in these states
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rainfall across several states. The weather department has forecast heavy rainfall across several areas in Arunachal Pradesh and Karnataka over the next three days. An alert has also been issued regarding strong winds during this period. Additionally, heavy rainfall is expected in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh over the next three days. Heavy rainfall is also expected in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Puducherry, Yanam, Mahe, and Karaikal during the next three days.

Rainfall Warning for Coastal and Inland Districts:
The IMD has issued an alert for heavy rainfall in Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Pudukkottai, and Karaikal. Heavy rainfall warnings have also been issued for the districts of Ramanathapuram, Sivaganga, Tiruchirappalli, Ariyalur, Cuddalore, Villupuram, and Chengalpattu.

Rainfall is expected to intensify on January 10th. Heavy rainfall is likely in Cuddalore, Villupuram, and Chengalpattu on this day, while Chennai, Puducherry, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, and Kanchipuram districts are also expected to receive heavy rainfall. The meteorological department predicts that rainfall intensity will gradually decrease on January 11th and 12th, but isolated heavy rainfall may persist in North Coastal Tamil Nadu and some adjoining inland districts.

Cold Wave Warning:
Cold wave conditions are expected in eastern Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Odisha. Cold day warnings have been issued for Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh. Dense fog warnings are in effect for Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.
