New Delhi: President Vladimir Putin, on his first visit to India since the start of the Ukraine-Russia war, once again conveyed a message of strengthening their long-standing friendship with the world. PM Narendra Modi also spared no effort in praising and honouring Vladimir Putin. During this visit, PM Modi, in keeping with his friendship, made a significant announcement for Russian citizens.
Russian citizens will now receive free e-tourist visas, valid for one month or 30 days. A large number of Russian citizens visit India. Global attention is focused on the meeting between the leaders of the two powers. Putin is on a 30-hour visit to India and will depart by air sometime Friday night.
We will fight together against terrorism.
PM Narendra Modi stated that India and Russia have long cooperated shoulder to shoulder in the fight against terrorism. Whether it’s the terrorist attack in Pahalgam or the cowardly attack on Crocus City Hall, all these incidents have the same root cause. India firmly believes that terrorism is a direct attack on the values of humanity. Global unity against this is our greatest strength.
Putin also made a major announcement.
Russian President Vladimir Putin made a major announcement regarding nuclear power plants. He said that we are working on a project to build a nuclear power plant for India. Three of the six reactors are already operational and are connected to the energy network.
During this, Putin said, “I sincerely thank President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Modi for this warm welcome. The discussion we had over lunch yesterday was very important. Thank you for that. We spoke in a spirit of friendship and partnership. We also exchanged views on regional and global issues.”

PM Narendra Modi also mentioned the terrorist incident in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. He said that terrorism is an attack on the values of humanity. A terrorist attack took place in Pahalgam. Both our countries are against terrorism. India and Russia are together in the fight against terrorism. We want a peaceful solution to the Ukraine problem.”
