Indian hockey team got off to a great start in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2025, defeating Korea 1-0. Following this, the Indian team’s second match was scheduled for November 24, 2025 against Belgium. However, rain struck as soon as the match began, proving to be the biggest culprit. Consequently, the match had to be postponed. The match will now be played on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
The match between India and Belgium started on time but had to be stopped after three minutes due to heavy rain. After this the match started at 8.45 pm. But seeing no improvement in the weather it was decided to postpone the match till tomorrow.

In a statement issued by the organizers it was said that the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup match of the Indian men’s hockey team against Belgium has been postponed. Now this match will be held tomorrow. India is playing in the tournament after six years.
In the match against Korea, the Indian players maintained pressure from the start and created scoring opportunities. India found success before the end of the first quarter when Mohammad Raheel converted a brilliant team move into a goal, giving the team a 1-0 lead, which held until the end, as no Korean player could score. The win earned India three points.

New Zealand leads the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2025 points table, having played two matches, winning one and drawing one. They have four points. Malaysia, on the other hand, is in second place, also with four points after two matches. The Indian hockey team is in third place, having played one match so far and winning that match. Belgium is in fourth place.
