BCCI has made a major announcement regarding Team India’s tour of Australia. The BCCI has announced the Indian women’s cricket team for this tour. The Indian team’s tour of Australia will begin in February.
BCCI announced 2 squads for upcoming tour
Team India will play ODI and T20I series on this tour. Harmanpreet Kaur will captain the recently crowned world champion Indian team in both formats. The team will be looking to win its first series against Australia in white-ball cricket.
New faces got a chance
The Indian team, which won the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup last year, has three new players included in the squad. Vaishnavi Sharma, G. Kamalini, and Kashvi Gautam have been included in the squad. Meanwhile, Uma Chhetri, Yastika Bhatia, and Pratika Rawal were not included in the squad for this tour.
2 changes in the T20I squad
Only two changes have been made in the T20I team from the last series against Sri Lanka. Shreyanka Patil, who has recovered from injury, has returned to the team in place of Harleen Deol. Bharti Fulmali has also been included in the T20I team. Fulmali last played a T20I match for India in 2019 and has now returned to the team after a long gap of almost 7 years. Kashvi Gautam’s return to the ODI team is considered special. She has been included only in the ODI squad. Harleen Deol has been included in the ODI team and has been left out of the T20I team.
India tour of Australia schedule
The three-match T20I series between India and Australia begins in Sydney on February 15. This will be followed by the ODI series starting on February 24. Both series will consist of three matches each.
